FACET: Services to Youth Partnership with Siefert Elementary School  Milwaukee Public Schools

 Partnership since 2013-2014 School year.

  •  Focused on addressing Literacy needs for 4th and 5th Grade
    • 4 hours of weekly tutoring  
    • Created a home/ school connection by sharing activities students experienced with parents
    • Provided reading incentives 
  • Exposed students to artistic/ cultural activities including taking students to Art and Cultural Exhibits.

FACET: Health and Human Services Partnership with Siefert Elementary School Milwaukee Public Schools

  •  Create walking opportunities for students and families at partnership school
  • Provide socks and personal hygiene items to the students at the partnership school.
  • ​Partner with Mental Illness Stigma Reduction and Recovery Coalition (MISRRC) to include programs on adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and the effects and impact on individual mental health.

FACET: National Trends and Service ​

  •  Strong partnership with the National Kidney Foundation for the WOW (Women of the World Annual Conference)
  • Emphasize advocacy agenda by collaborating with the Congressional Black Caucus, and National Urban League
  • Educate women and children on policies and programs to protect the women and children who experience domestic violence and assault.
  • Provide financial literacy workshops with a curriculum that includes classroom and online modules for families

FACET: International Trends and Service in Partnership with Engineers Without Borders (EWB)

 A Bridge to a Better Life


  •  Instrumental in facilitating what members of their adopted village, Soppo Likoko in the Cameroon, most desired: a bridge.
  • Assisted in providing access to preventative health care had been a major issue for those living in the village.
  • ​The bridge, which allows people and small vehicles to safely cross over the river, serves more than 4,000 people, not only those in the village, but also those in neighboring areas

FACET: The Arts In partnership with the Services to Youth Facet

 

  • Partnership with Siefert Elementary School 
  • Projects include:
    • Greeting Cards to Soldiers
    • Study of African American Artists
    • "Who Am I" - Students focus on learning about the Great Depression, then study their own family tree.
    • Make an African American Game
    • Study of the African influence on main stream art​
